Khachapuri Cooking Instructions

Take Khachapuri out of the freezer.

Cut open the sealed bag, and pull the baking paper and Khachapuri out. 

Place Khachapuri on a baking tray. 

Cover it using tea-towel, and let it rest/proof for 90 minutes.

This step is the most important. It is necessary to allow the dough to rest and proof before baking or it will not rise. 

After proofing for 90 minutes, heat the oven to 220C (fan-forced) and place the tray in the middle.

 

After 15-17minutes in the oven, take the Khachapuri out. 

Gently place yolk in the middle. 

Put it back in the oven for no longer than 1 minute. You want the yolk to be runny and not cooked. 

After 1 minute in the oven, take it out and serve it with a generous cube of butter.
